Delayed, But Not Denied | The Gospel is Alive in South Asia
“What God has in store is so great, because we’ve had so much opposition!”
We've arrived in South Asia! For nearly 40 long minutes, it didn’t look like they were going to let me into the country. I often do not disclose our exact locations and am very careful about what we post on social media for these exact reasons.
I was tediously questioned about my reason for travel, my purposes for being there, and the names of contacts and hosts. They even asked why I have a quantity of trips because my passport is loaded with stamps from all across the world, including around 10 trips to this nation. That sinking feeling was in my gut, my spirit was on high alert, and I was praying in the spirit under my breath, confidently answering each question as the Holy Spirit gave me the right words. After nearly 40 minutes with 5 different officials, many questions, and a lot of note taking by the officials, I was allowed to proceed back to the immigration counter and be processed into the country.
This week the location of the crusade was changed 3 additional times due to extremist groups protesting against our prayer festival and harassing those involved. Our team even received death threats. The risk of governmental involvement is also a concern, which includes everything from being blacklisted, imprisoned, death, and a host of other problems for our USA team, not to mention our local ground team who will continue living here after we are gone.
After 2 ½ days of travel, we were happy to arrive for the first night of the Gospel Crusade. Thousands showed up to the main crusade site, along with television streaming, and 40 additional locations which broadcast the crusade LIVE into locations which are unreachable for mass transportation. Since so many are not able to come to the crusade, we bring the crusade to them and later start churches in most of these locations that don’t have existing churches.
After a clear presentation of the Gospel, there was an amazing response to the call for salvation. More than a thousand people signified healings also. Joshua commented about how much we’ve had to fight to even get to this moment tonight because the devil is clearly unhappy with our pursuit for souls in this unreached village and our march for seeing one million souls for Jesus in a year. Joshua said the people were so ready to receive that it was amongst the most peaceful moments we’ve ever had in this nation in preaching the Gospel. The people were so hungry! They were so ripe to receive! Our intercessors have been interceding and it was clear that those prayers made such a difference!
