Prophetic Vision: How the Holy Spirit Thwarts the Plans of the Enemy

The enemy has been sharpening his fiery darts, strategizing and striving to sow discord among God’s people.

I had a vision recently where the Lord placed me in “the situation room” in the pit of hell. It was quite the experience to say the least. A truth emerged from that encounter that I believe is going to empower you to defeat the plans of the enemy against your life!

I was able to see the enemy brainstorm and produce a booklet of sorts. As I looked, there were seven or eight demons huddled over the booklet trying to figure out their tactics, when, suddenly, a more imposing demon came striding into the room proclaiming, “Our plan will work for Caleb!”

At that point, I was ready to cast them out in Jesus’ name! However, I felt like the Holy Spirit was telling me to not say anything yet—that He was trying to reveal something to me. He reaffirmed that my prayers had power and did not want me to lose this moment of revelation, so I waited patiently on the Lord.

The narrative shifted gears as the unclean spirits began to discuss implementing their plan. “We’ve looked at his life and his history and the way he’s been,” they reflected, “and we’ve designed this perfect plan to get Caleb.” I heard myself whisper, “Oh my goodness! Heck no!” The Holy Spirit spoke and said, “Okay, now you can pray, but I want you to pray that the enemy’s plans and schemes for you dissolve.”

I immediately prayed and right in front of my eyes, the booklet dissolved, literally turning to ash while these demons were holding it. I heard one of them shriek, “No! Somebody’s praying again!” And immediately, I was out of the room.

There are kingdoms in conflict and the resulting violence is very real. Psalm 144:5-6 guides our petition, “Open the heavens, Lord, and come down. Touch the mountains so they billow smoke. Hurl your lightning bolts and scatter your enemies! Shoot your arrows and confuse them!”

There is an enemy who holds strategy sessions about how to take us out—because we pose a threat to his kingdom, a threat he takes very seriously. We are made in the very image of God and he knows he can’t hurt God. He does all that he can to hurt what looks like Him—you and me. And as your name comes up nothing is off the table from coming after your life, to destroying your reputation.

The enemy may have a plan for your life, however, Isaiah 54:17 tells us, “…no weapon turned against you will succeed…” No matter how well thought out or cunning, the enemy’s plans will dissolve as we pray in the authority given to us in Christ. Exodus 15:3 tells us that “The Lord is a man of war; The Lord is His name” (NKJV). The battle is His and we would do well to remember that God has never lost a battle! Our prayers carry tremendous weight. May this heavenly insight, implemented in prayer, turn the tides in your favor today.
