The Real Prize
Welcome to the launch of our brand new devotional series! In the second segment of this international series, Evangelist Caleb Wampler joins you from Costa Rica!
Greetings from the country of Costa Rica! God is doing amazing things here, and I want to highlight just one of the miracles the Lord did. There was a young, 8 year old girl, who was blind in the her right eye since birth. During the meeting, she encountered Jesus in a mighty way. When I prayed with her, the presence of the Lord came upon her. She started weeping uncontrollably, and she felt heat and electricity in her body. She accepted the Lord as her personal Lord and savior. In Jesus name, she was healed and sight was restored in her eye.
Something that the Lord has recently put on my heart stems from Matthew 7:15-23 in the Bible.
15 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. 21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
Sometimes as humans we put the people who we strive to become like on pedestals. We see a person who is doing amazing things for the Lord and view them as a super Christian. Some people may see me as a super Christian because I get to do the Lord’s work and go to many countries to preach the gospel. Apart from God, I can’t do anything. Without Jesus, or the salvation in him, we can do nothing. Reinhard Bonnke says “I stay on my knees so that the praises of men will go right over my head.” The goal in life is not to appear as a super Christian, but to be in an intimate relationship with Jesus. A relationship with the Lord is what is key. So, when we as Christians are used by God to perform miracles, we thank him for the miracles and salvations that we get to lead people through. It is all thanks to the power of Jesus. John 14:6 sums it all up perfectly. 6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
